Le Mans was the initiation of Didier Drogba’s career

The French side Le Mans was the initiation of Didier Drogba’s career at the professional stage and it was a very difficult start for the attacker hailing from Ivory Coast as he was hampered with injuries and his family life made it very difficult for the player as he was a father at the age of 21 which was the same time when he signed his first contract with Le Mans.

Even with all of those initial struggles and obstacles that Didier Drogba faced during first few years, the player managed to overcome all the odds and turn into one of the best forwards in the history of the Premier League and for Chelsea as well.

After having played for over 16 years with some of the biggest clubs and players in the world, Didier Drogba is well aware that his playing career is reaching it’s last few phases and this is why he recently has been saying words of wisdom to his fellow teammates and helping out the younger players in the start of their careers.

“When I was younger I was training with amateur teams once or twice a week and going to school.I was 22 or 23 when a friend told me to focus on football for six months eating well, no clubbing, sleeping well, going to train. It did work. Read more »

Chelsea faced most Embarrassing FA Cup

Chelsea suffered one of the most embarrassing FA Cup defeats of all times after a 4-2 loss at the hands of Bradford City.

They have crashed out of the FA Cup this season at fourth round stage, but the blues could be looking at yet another cup upset in the space of just a few days. They take on Liverpool in the second leg of the League Cup semi-final at Stamford Bridge. After having failed at the similar stage only last season, Chelsea will be aware of winning the match in order to let the confidence stay within the team.

Striker Didier Drogba says that the blues should do a lot better than they did against Bradford on Saturday. The 36-year-old was one of the starters against the League One team, but he was not able to impact much despite playing along with another striker in the form of Loic Remy. Read more »

Didier Drogba want to make his Last Season Special

It looks like the ongoing season is going to mark the end of Didier Drogba’s trophy-filled career at Stamford Bridge.

The Ivorian legend himself said the other day that he has only one season left now and he wants to make it special.

In a recent interview, the veteran was quoted as saying, “I have had a number of wonderful seasons over here. I don’t think I have enjoyed myself more anywhere else than at Chelsea.”

“One more season is left and hopefully, this would be the same. I am looking to have as much fun as possible with the guys and also, to clinch titles.”

“There is nothing that I haven’t won with Chelsea. But, I want to do it all over again this season. It would be so nice to be able to create history as we had done in 2012.”

Drogba has not played as the central striker for the Blues anyway since rejoining the club.

It’s Diego Costa who has been Chelsea’s main man upfront and now, there are rumours that Jose Mourinho, the manager of the side, is planning to add an emerging youngster i.e. Anderson Talisca to his attacking line.

Talisca is contracted to Benfica at this point of time. Chelsea’s rival clubs including Liverpool are also interested in the teenager who is an all round player.

Talisca is enormously effective as an attacking playmaker, but, he has shown his credentials as forward as well a few times playing for Bahia (a Brazilian club) and for Benfica.

Talisca’s arrival would mean that there is no place for Drogba in the starting XI of Chelsea and in that scenario, there is very less possibility that Mourinho would give contract extension to the Ivorian at the end of the season.
