DROGBA: HAVERTZ AND WERNER WILL BE EXCITING NEXT SEASON

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has insisted that the Blues’ attackers Timo Werner and Kai Havertz will be better next season and will prove that they are worthy of being ideal Chelsea players as well. Both players have struggled for form and consistency since completing their moves from the German Bundesliga to the English Premier League and they have both often come under huge criticism for their performances for the Blues as well.

While Werner was signed from RB Leipzig, Havertz was signed from Bayer Leverkusen and with both of them being brought in by former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, they joined the club at a time when they were still am evolving side. After failing to immediately click into the Chelsea side, they were immediately tagged as flops and more was asked from them eventually.

Hakim Ziyech, another summer addition to the Blues squad, joined from Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax and has also not been able to prove himself in the Premier League. However, Drogba believes that while all the three players have the chance to become better next season, Havertz and Werner have the larger portion of the chance to improve next season as they both enjoyed more minutes on the pitch than Ziyech last season.

Drogba said that Werner is a top striker and does some things that are quickly swept under the carpet just because he does not score much. The former Ivory Coast international striker said that the German striker creates space for his teammates and gets into position well but is often unfortunate to not score goals. On Havertz, Drogba said that the attacker is also a lethal option upfront and will prove to many that he has a lot of talent up his sleeves in the coming campaign.
