Eden Hazard heaps praise on Lampard’s management at Chelsea
Real Madrid star Eden Hazard has said that he is not surprised by the success of Frank Lampard since he was handed with the managerial role at Chelsea. The 41-year-old had a rather mixed beginning to the season as the Blues struggled to garner regular wins but things have changed over the past few months.
The west London giants had built up a six-match winning streak in the Premier League prior to the international break and that sees them placed in the third on the table with a healthy nine-point advantage over the teams outside of the Champions League positions. Speaking in a press conference, Hazard was asked whether he has been surprised by the Blues this term to which he replied:
“No, not at all. I know Frank as a player, not as a manger, but he’s a great guy. He’s showed already after four months that he can be one of the best managers in the world. The good thing is that they are playing with young players, young English players. For England it’s good, for Chelsea’s it’s good. They are lucky to have young players with quality.”
The Blues were unable to sign new players during the summer due to the two-window transfer ban imposed by FIFA. As such, not many fancied them to make the push for the top four and Lampard has to be credited for showing confidence in the some of the club’s graduates, who have stepped up to the plate.
Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori, Reece James, and Tammy Abraham have all made their breakthrough with the Blues during the current campaign and they could have a bright future ahead with the Capital outfit, provided they continue to work hard and remain grounded. The Blues return from the international break to face Premier League holders Manchester City on the road.
