WILFRED ZAHA: DROGBA MY PREMIER LEAGUE IDOL

Prolific Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha has made a startling revelation after he named former Chelsea’s playmaker Didier Drogba as his premier league idol.

Zaha who has been an integral member of the crystal palace team has stated that the former Ivorian international has contributed immensely to the way he goes about his game.

Drogba, who was a striker most defenders wouldn’t want to go against achieved great heights in the Premier League, helping his Chelsea team make history after winning a top fourth flight title in 2015 having signed a one-year contract that saw him returned to the club. However, the former Chelsea striker now plies his trade with French side Montreal Impact.

Throughout his stellar blues career, the former Ivorian football international scored a staggering 164 goals for his Chelsea team and won a total of twelve trophies including the most coveted of trophies the champion’s league in 2012. Internationally, the striker netted 63 goals for his Ivorian team, before drawing the cutting to his impressive national team career two years ago.

Crystal Palace striker Zaha who believes the striker had an influence on him, has been named in Ivory Coast’s provincial squad for the upcoming African nation’s cup. The winger was added to the team after switching allegiance from England to his country of birth.

The winger, who has so far scored three premier league goals, has stated why Chelsea veteran Drogba is his premier league idol, saying the former Chelsea striker’s ability to score jaw-dropping goals is the reason why the striker is in a different class.

Zaha revealed this to the premier league when he said:

“He was literally a beast, he was a different class.

“Defenders couldn’t handle him. He’d hold someone off and, at the same time, turn and swerve and volley it in somehow.”
