OSIMHEN ADMIRES DIDIER DROGBA’S PERSONALITY

Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen has stated his admiration for Didier Drogba and his personality. He talked extensively about Didier Drogba in a recent interview with Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

Osimhen has always enjoyed comparison with Chelsea legend Drogba amongst football fans around the world. When asked about Didier Drogba during the aforementioned interview, Super Eagles striker Osimhen said he’s a big fan of Drogba and his personality. For him, he didn’t like Drogba as a footballer only. Osimhen also admires the Ivorian football icon for his leadership qualities on and off the pitch. The Nigerian was particular about his leadership qualities off the pitch.

There’s a mutual respect between Drogba and Osimhen as shown by the interview the Ivorian granted journalist Marco Giordano a few weeks. The former Galatasaray and Marseille attacker said he likes the Nigerian striker a lot and that he has what it takes to become the best striker in the world. Osimhen has the talent and it’s all about the question of momentum as regards him reaching the status of the best striker in the world. The likes of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, Manchester City star ErlingHaaland, Barcelona hitman Robert Lewandowski and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) star KylianMbappeare seen as the best strikers in the world at the moment. Osimhen is not yet in the conversation for the best strikers in the world.

Osimhenwas the subject of transfer to a lot of European clubs when he burst onto the scene at the FIFA u-17 World Cup tournament in Chile seven years ago. He showed courage, strength and hunger at the tournament in the South American nation. Osimhen scored ten goals at the tournament. German club VFL Wolfsburg won the race to sign him as a teenager and he went on to taste Belgian football plus French football before his move to Napoli for a club-record fee two years ago.
