Brazilian attacker Oscar had nice things to say about Ex-Chelsea teammate Didier Drogba during his recent interview with one of theleading newspapers in England. Oscar and Didier Drogba shared the Chelsea dressing room for justone season and it was enough for Didier Drogba to leave a lasting impression on Oscar as he pointed out during his exclusive interview with The Guardian. Oscar, 29, plays his club football for Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super League and has revealed that he wants to return to Chelsea before his career ends just like what Didier Drogba did in 2014.

Didier Drogba had left Chelsea in the summer of 2012 after he emerged the hero of the Blues’ one and only Champions League triumph till date. Celtic midfielder IsmailaSoro has revealed that Chelsea legend Didier Drogbawas his childhood hero while he was growing up. The Celtic player said that Didier Drogba was his hero as a child while he was fielding questions from Twitter. The Ivorian player said that he adored his compatriot Didier Drogba because the former Chelsea striker was very strong and also scored a lot of goals during his playing career.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard believes that it’s a matter of time before the Tottenham Hotspur duo of Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min break the Premier League record that he shares with Didier Drogba. Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba hold the record for combining for the most goals in the history of the Premier League. During their time at Chelsea between 2004 and 2012, Lampard and Drogba both combined for 36 goals.

Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard are both 42. They helped the Blues win the Premier League title three times together. The first time came with Jose Mourinho in charge at Stamford Bridge during the 2004/05 season as the Blues ended their 50-year wait for a Premier League title. Another league title followed in the 2005/06 season under the same manager for Didier and Frank Lampard. Frank Lampard has urged Chelsea players to emulate the fighting spirit of Didier Drogba while playing for the blues. Lampard also spoke about his then partnership with the Ivorian and how his players can emulate it. Mark Bosnich analyses Kepa Arrizabalaga’ situation at Chelsea


Former Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has said that the decision to drop Kepa Arrizabalaga by manager Frank Lampard is justified. Arrizabalaga made the club-record move to the Blues from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 and over the past two years, he has been the regular choice in goal across all competitions.

However, his performances have dropped occasionally and a league low save percentage of 51 has led to criticism from some of the fans. Lampard recently made the decision to drop the 25-year-old for the second occasion this term and Bosnich feels the shot-stopper has not lived up to the price tag.

Lampard confident of Pedro and Willian staying until season end

Frank Lampard is confident of including Willian and Pedro on the team even though their contract with Chelsea will be ending nine days after the match against Aston Villa. The club is having talks with both the players to extend their contract temporarily until the current season ends. This may be not possible in the case of Pedro as he has reached an agreement with the Italian club Romawhich makes Chelsea doubt hispresence on the team for the forthcoming matches.

Meanwhile, Willian has not yet agreed on moving away from Chelsea but his request for a three-year contract has been rejected. Lampard hopes that both of his players will not leave him in the middle of the season like Ryan Fraser of Bournemouth.
